Facebook Start Introducing Timeline to Public

Today Facebook has launched their new interface and feature at once, they named it Timeline. Timeline is collection of the photos, stories, and experiences that tell your story. You can do some things on your timeline such as add a cover, jump to the past, view your activity log, see highlights from each month, add life events, share your app activity, and many more.

As a note, this Timeline will be available in the upcoming weeks. Once it’s ready, you’ll see a notice at the top of your old profile. Or if you want to try it now, simply go to the Introducing Timeline page and click Get It Now.

Once you upgrade, you’ll have 7 days to preview your timeline before other people can see it. This gives you a chance to review what’s here, highlight or hide whatever you want, and even add new social apps. After 7 days, your timeline will be published automatically. Or, you can choose to publish your timeline at any time by clicking the Publish Now button at the top of your timeline. Until your timeline goes live, people will see your old profile. Similarly, you won’t be able to see your friend’s timelines until they upgrade and publish.

For me there are two part in this Timeline that make me interest more. It is the cover and activity log. A cover is the larger photo at the top of your timeline, right above your profile picture. It’s always visible to the public. With this cover you probably can expressing more about you, unique and individualized as you are. This helps people learn more about you.

Activity log is a list of your posts and activity, from today back to the very beginning. You’ll also see stories and photos you’ve been tagged in, as well as the connections you’ve made – like when you liked a Page or added someone as a friend. This helps me to remember what I did in the past.

In this Timeline you can also add apps. With this app your Timeline will more life. The movies you quote. The songs you have on repeat. The activities you love. Now there’s a new class of social apps that let you express who you are through all the things you do. The music you listen to is on your timeline, so friends can listen along.

Try this Timeline on Facebook now and control more what you want to share to your friends and to public. Express who you are.
