There is default function of Firefox due to which it scans every downloaded file to make sure that it is free of any kind of virus. You can disable this function to increase the performance of Firefox 4. This can be done by following simple steps. Lets check out those steps.

Process to Disable Antivirus Scanning in Firefox 4

  1. Open Firefox 4 and type about:config in address bar.
  2. Look for a config named 
    browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone

  3. The default value of this config is True. Right click to change its value.
  4. Click “Toggle” after right click to change its value to False.
