Asus Laptop Combo Device and Transformer Tablet Available in Taiwan
Asus is finally fulfilling its promise to launch Eee Android Pad Transformer Convertible tablet/laptop. The tablet Dockers went on sale in Taiwan Friday costs $ 500 and $ 700. No word yet on when the processor is available here in the U.S.. Asus originally said April 2011. I’m not holding my breath.
Originally introduced at CES this year, the ASUS Eee Pad transformer has a 10.1 “high definition (1280×800) touchscreen, which can be used alone or connected to a full QWERTY keyboard that makes it act as a netbook Eee PC.
A common criticism of the pills is that productivity is hampered by the on-screen keyboards, for anything but light writing, a physical keyboard is much more preferable. The transformer pad Eee solves this problem by offering full keyboard attachment, which also nearly doubles the battery life of the tablet thin to a maximum of 16 hours.
The transformer works Pad Eee pill use Android 3. 0 (honeycomb) and NVIDIA Tegra 2 packages of chips (more dual-core CPU NVIDIA GeForce GPU), with full support for Adobe Flash and video playback Full HD 1080p. It is a slim 0.51 inches and weighs only 1.49 pounds. Other specifications include two USB ports, two cameras facing front and back, a SD card reader and the storage of either 16GB or 32GB (plus unlimited WebStorage ASUS).
Available for pre-order in Taiwan on Friday, the transformer is expected to OnSale in the UK on March 30 and will be available in the U.S. Campus ASUSLife also reported that the tablet is priced at par with the standard ASUS netbook 10-inch at $ 399.
