Google Android has officially introduced the Honeycomb or the ‘beehive’ as the operating system for tablets. For most brand-new tablet operating system, here are 6 advantages Honeycomb compared with other Android.
Switching and better multitasking
Android indeed great at multitasking application, now it is again enhanced. In Honeycomb users can easily switch applications by simply touching an icon in the system bar. After that then you will see a thumbnail of the application running.
Better capability to vary Widget
Capability against a variety of widgets promised would be more indulgent of its users. For example widget to display Google’s Gmail e-mail, users do not need to open the Gmail application to browse in it, just need to scrolling of the widget only. Another benefit is, it is hoped the developers could create applications that are increasingly attractive.
Increased ability to Copy-Paste
Some Android previous series had been able to do copy-paste, but some users questioned the text selection problem which is rather difficult. Now it is trying to be resolved, in addition to copy-paste the Google also added to share it on the selected text.
Better Chrome browser
There is one missing feature that is placed in the Chrome browser on Android earlier, the ability Tab. Yes, that is in Honeycomb Chrome can now do so. In addition users can also synchronize between the browser on the phone with Chrome on the computer.
Notifications more ‘sounds’
With a bigger screen, automatically make Google more flexibility to place notification on the screen.
Improved Drag and Drop and Mutitouch
Larger screen sizes, to sue Google to improve the multitouch capabilities in Android, not to mention the features drag and drop. In the demo shown, the user can drag and drop to move emails in Gmail application.
In addition to upgrades mentioned above, Honeycomb is also designed for the graphics card on board. So hopefully will provide a different experience when users play games over the tablet Honeycomb.
